Psychotominesis

This video was created based on the initial brief of telling a story through a limited number of frames. This story is a horror piece set in a hospital - it centres around the ill effects of anaesthesia. There is supposed to be an ambiguity about whether the events of the nightmare were real or imagined - however I went with a more vivid and other worldly style for the surgeons.

The aesthetics for the hospital frames were influenced by the Saw posters and Bathroom trap in Saw (2004). I wanted it to have a dirty, dystopian look that made the viewer feel a little uneasy for the character being in such a physically dirty place.

As it progresses the frames get darker as the nightmare progresses and then returns to stark white for the final frame - leading the viewer to wonder if there is a difference in the world between the images presented in the first and last frames.
